Lifeline for Children

All programs are all funded by voluntary contributions and fundraising.

The Benjamin F. Griffith Scholarship Fund:
Established as a memorial to the late Social Services Program Director of the Chatham County Department of Family and Children Services. Scholarships are awarded to children in the custody of DFCS to aid in furthering their education. Donations are accepted through The Savannah Community Foundation, Inc.

The Benjamin F. Griffith Volunteer Appreciation Award:
Presented each year to an outstanding volunteer who has provided leadership and dedication to enhance services for children in our community.

Companies & Kids:
An innovative partnership between local employers and the Chatham County Department of Family and Children Services which promotes the needs of foster and adoptive children by facilitating recruitment efforts within the workplace.

One Church One Child:
A nationally acclaimed, on-going effort within the African-American religious community to promote the development of foster and adoptive homes for African-American children. The Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance is a catalyst for the success of the local program.

Church Coordinators:
Links local churches in a campaign to address the special needs of foster and adoptive children and their families, and to facilitate the recruitment of prospective families.

ROCK (Raising our Children Kindly Groups):
activities in support of Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Month. ROCK is a collaborative partner with Dept. of Family and Children Services as well as a volunteer member of our community support advocacy group, Lifeline for Children.
